    Lubricating a motorcycle chain using Motul Chain Lube, or any chain lubricant, is an essential part of motorcycle maintenance. Proper lubrication helps extend the life of the chain and ensures smoother and safer operation.

    Here's a step-by-step guide on how to lube your motorcycle chain using Motul Chain Lube:

    Tools and Materials You'll Need:

    • Motul Chain Lube or the specific product you've chosen.
    • Motorcycle stand (if available) to lift the rear wheel off the ground.
    • Clean rag or shop towels.
    • Chain cleaning brush (if the chain is dirty).
    • Gloves and eye protection.

    Step 1: Preparation:

    1. Ensure your motorcycle is parked on a stable and level surface.
    2. Put on gloves and eye protection to keep your hands and eyes safe during the process.
    3. If your motorcycle has a center stand or paddock stand, use it to lift the rear wheel off the ground. This makes it easier to access the chain.

    Step 2: Cleaning the Chain (if needed): If your chain is dirty or has old lube buildup, you should clean it before applying new lubricant. Here's how to do it:

    1. Use a chain cleaning brush to remove dirt, grime, and old lubricant from the chain. Spray-on chain cleaners are also available and can be used.
    2. Rotate the rear wheel slowly to ensure you clean the entire length of the chain.
    3. Wipe the chain clean with a rag or shop towels.

    Step 3: Applying Motul Chain Lube:

    1. Shake the Motul Chain Lube can well to ensure the lubricant is properly mixed.
    2. Position the can of Motul Chain Lube close to the chain.
    3. While slowly rotating the rear wheel, apply the lube evenly to the inside of the lower chain run. Apply a thin, continuous line of lube along the chain's length.
    4. Avoid over-lubing, as excess lube can attract dirt and create a mess.
    5. Be sure to apply the lube to the entire chain, not just one section.
    6. Continue to rotate the wheel slowly to ensure the lube is evenly distributed.

    Step 4: Let the Lube Set: Allow the chain lube to set for a few minutes. This helps it penetrate and coat the chain properly.

    Step 5: Wipe off Excess Lube: After the lube has set, use a clean rag or shop towels to wipe off any excess lube from the chain. Excess lube can attract dirt and make a mess.

    Step 6: Test the Chain Tension: Check your motorcycle's owner's manual for the recommended chain tension, and adjust it if necessary. A well-tensioned chain ensures optimal performance and longevity.

    Step 7: Lower the Motorcycle: If you used a stand to lift the rear wheel, carefully lower the motorcycle back to the ground.

    That's it! Your motorcycle chain is now properly lubricated with Motul Chain Lube. It's a good practice to lubricate your chain regularly, especially after riding in wet or dirty conditions, to ensure the best performance and chain longevity.     In-Stock at our Retail Shops: Dispatch of any goods we have in one of our retail shops is generally within 24 hours with exceptions for public holidays.

    In-Stock at our Warehouse: If your order includes an item that is at our warehouse, it may take up to 3 days to transfer it to one of our shops for dispatch.

    Backordered Items: If your order includes a backordered item (ie. not in stock in either our retail shops or warehouse) and our website allows you to order the item in, we'll get back to you with an ETA on when you can expect your order.

    Out of stock items: We generally turn off backorders for products that we can't guarantee ETAs on, just so that we aren't stringing you along! However, if you're really keen on an item that is out of stock (and you can't purchase - the button is greyed out) please contact us at hello@peakmotogear.com.au and we can make special exceptions on some products.

    Need to exchange or return an item?

    Head to our Returns Centre and follow the easy steps.

    We are committed to your satisfaction. If you need to exchange or refund, you can do so within 30 days of purchase.

    All items need to be in brand new condition with tags, armour (if applicable) and all relevant packaging.

    The buyer is responsible for the cost of shipping back to us.

    Please note we cannot exchange or refund the following items:

    • All clearance items
    • Helmets
    • Bike maintenance products such as Motul or Muc-Off cleaners, lubes, and oil

    So, rather than have a sparse sprinkling of everything possible, we choose the products that people most likely purchase, and have these ready to go.

    The result is that you're less likely to wait for your items, and we're less likely to sit on products that move slowly. We'll have better cashflow in order to run our business smoothly.

    For Australian orders less than $350 AUD, we charge a flat rate of $12.

    Express Post is available starting at $20 and is based on weight.

    To back up the quality of the products we stock, we offer a 12-month warranty on all products in our store from the date of purchase, even if the manufacturer's warranty is shorter.

    We'll need photos of the item and details of what happened to cause it.

    Manufacturing defects include unravelling stitching, stuck or broken zippers, or premature detaching of parts.

    Warranty does not cover discolouration, wear from normal use, normal breakdown of materials, or damaged caused by misuse or a crash.
