The Evolution The latest iteration of the Sand series represents an evolution rather than a revolution. This change is marked by small tweaks and adjustments aimed at enhancing its overall performance. This Sand 5 H2O Ladies jacket (as part of the Sand 5 H2O Ladies outfit with matching pants) remains as relevant today as it was 25 years ago. In crafting the Sand 5, a delicate balance is struck, paying homage to the past while looking towards the future.
Shifting Styles The Sand 5 H2O Ladies jacket takes on a slightly more sport-driven character compared to the Sand 4. As adventure bikes become more sport-centric and dynamic, the Sand 5 H2O Ladies reflects this industry shift. Matching the fast-paced nature of sport and the thirst for the uncharted, the Sand 5 H2O Ladies jacket fuses two genres into one. Furthermore, the jacket is hydrapak prepared in the lower back pocket (like with our Trail vest) with a cut out in the left corner to feed a water tube underneath the arm and up the front to be attached on the left side.
The Over and Under Concept Like we previously introduced in one of our ADV jackets—the Offtrack 2 H2O—we’ve taken our know-how of the proven over and under waterproof liner concept and applied it to our Sand 5 H2O jacket. Wear the detachable hydratex 3L liner over or under your protective layer according to your personalized preference for keeping the rain away—and keeping you dry. Though we recommend wearing it over because of the high-performance characteristics of the membrane and its design-driven aesthetics. A detachable, separately wearable thermal liner is also included to up the ante on warmth and comfort on cold, rainy days.
Female-Specific Details Special attention has been given to the fit of the Sand 5 H2O Ladies jacket to ensure that, even with all the inclusion of straps and buckles, the form and silhouette still look appealing from a design perspective. Additionally, the jacket is hydration pack prepared in the lower back pocket (similar to our Trail vest), with a cut out in the left corner to feed a water tube underneath the arm and up the front to be attached on the left side.
Long connection zipper The long connection zipper is the longer, more secure choice of our two connection zipper options. It lets you zip the motorcycle jacket and motorcycle pants together as one. For comfort and for safety.
Short connection zipper The short connection zipper is the shorter, simpler and quicker choice of our two connection zipper options. It lets you zip the motorcycle jacket and motorcycle pants together as one. For comfort and for safety.
Cuff zipper The zipper at the cuff allows for easier entry into the sleeve and lets you wear the glove cuff under your outer shell and over your base layer.
Soft edge at collar For extra comfort, the inside of the collar is covered with a soft fabric.
Two-way Collar Snap Closure System The two-way collar snap closure system works to close the collar in inclement weather and also flips back and reverses to use the same snap closure to keep the collar open and out of the way to allow in fresh air.
External hang loop Whether carrying the jacket or hanging it out to dry after a wet ride, the sturdy external hang loop is a practical addition to the design.

A 3-layer construction. The membrane has a layer of protective tricot laminated on each side of the membrane. This results in a waterproof and breathable membrane that is also very durable. This type of membrane also offers maximum flexibility, as it can be removed from the garment: wear the membrane inside the garment when the weather demands it, or take it out when you need maximum ventilation.

Flexisnap at collar The REV’IT! flexisnap makes it possible to adjust the collar circumference easily and personalize its fit to each rider. A jacket is often worn in more then one season, and the flexisnap makes it possible to adjust the collar within seconds. Ready for Avertum Tech-Air® airbag system - ONE SIZE UP
Under this garment you can wear our REV'IT! Avertum Tech-Air® Airbag - or a Tech5 airbag - if you purchase the garment one size bigger than your usual size. If you wish to wear a garment that is marked as ""Ready for Avertum Tech-Air® airbag system"", you must be sure that the garment can accommodate the expansion of the airbag and therefore we recommend following below fit equation: 1. Measure chest circumference and divide the measurement by two; 2. Measure garment flat on chest line; 3. If the difference between point 1 and point 2 is 12 centimetres or bigger the garment is suitable to wear on top of the airbag. Note: Please keep in mind that the garment should be purchased in the correct size in order for the shoulder and elbow protection to fit properly and best protect you in case of a crash. In order to create space for the expansion of the airbag, you can remove all separate layers (thermal liners, water proof liners) that can restrict the expansion of the airbag in the event of a crash. Remove the separate back protector in your garment, if any, when wearing the airbag (a back protector is included in the airbag) and adjust all adjustment straps on body to the widest position.

First off, I’ve been buying my riding gear from FlyingSolo/Peak Moto for awhile now and the customer service is nothing short of excellent. Amanda and her team do an amazing job.
Secondly, the jacket: this is a six month review after purchasing the Sands 5 in December. I had a short break at the time to go on a solo ride. It’s Melbourne, so naturally the first week of summer meant snow on the Great Alpine road and by the time I came home, 4 days later, it was 48 Celsius instead. I had all of my layers in - all of my layers off - and was in a state of perpetual confusion. The jacket is fantastic for touring.
I love that the raincoat, thermal, and shell are all complete pieces of clothing that can be worn separately or together. No exposed seams. All with their own zippers. No excess baggage. It’s well ventilated, warm, waterproof and comfortable.
It’s been worn nonstop on my daily commute to work and I would highly recommend it. The only fault is the wrist/forearm zipper on the right arm. When all layers are in, this has a tendency to do a slow creep down the forearm. If travelling at highway speeds, the material peels away from the forearm like a banana peel. I tend to keep an eye on it and readjust every hour or so. It’s the only real criticism on an otherwise excellent jacket. I’m not sure if this fault is unique to mine or if it’s common in the Sands 5, but it should be a consideration if purchasing. All other zippers in the jacket are functional.

This jacket is amazing. Not only is it great looking, well ventilated and true to size the additional water proof jacket and thermal liner can both be worn separately and both look great. I looked at a lot of jackets prior to this one and am thrilled with the style and all the little details like full chest vents and tabs for holding open vents. Jacket is true to size.
