Shoei NXR2 Helmets
The Shoei NXR2 is the sport helmet for riders who spend more time on the road than the track. It was one of the first helmets certified to the current ECE 22.06 standard, and it carries a five-star SHARP rating on top of that.
The shell is Shoei's AIM composite, made in four outer sizes so the helmet stays proportionate on a smaller head rather than looking oversized. It is among the lightest helmets Shoei builds in this category, and the compact, aerodynamic profile is a large part of why it feels settled at speed.
What you get
- CWR-F2 wide visor with a Pinlock EVO insert — a genuinely wide field of view, a more secure lock than the previous generation, and no fogging on a cold morning.
- Serious ventilation — six intakes and four exhausts, with channels moulded into the EPS liner so air actually moves across your head.
- Quieter than it has any right to be — reworked visor seals, cheek pads and ear padding make a noticeable difference for a helmet in this category.
- Emergency Quick Release System and a Double-D chin strap, with fully removable, washable liners.
- Intercom and eyewear friendly — riders consistently report an easy fit for both.
- Five-year Shoei warranty.
Two things worth knowing before you buy. The fit is sporty and snug, thicker across the forehead than a touring helmet, so it needs trying on rather than guessing. And there is no drop-down sun visor — if you want one, the GT-Air 3 is the helmet to look at instead.
Come and try one in Port Melbourne or West End, Brisbane. Helmets can't be returned once worn, so the fitting is the important part.
