A note from the founders
Our Brisbane shop is closing down.
Well, this is a very difficult email to write. After giving this a lot of thought, Steph and I have decided to close the doors to our Brisbane shop and consolidate our operations back into Melbourne.
In August 2024, a year after we started Peak Moto, we decided to expand into one of our favourite cities in Australia and see if we could bring the same energy we were creating in our tiny Melbourne shop. We fell in love with West End, and our vision was to create an all-inclusive space where female riders could walk in, try on all the gear, ask a million questions, and be welcomed into the riding community.
That November, riders from across SEQ came together for a working bee to help us fit out the shop. When we opened the doors, Queenslanders came from all over the state to celebrate with us. We'll never forget how much love you showed us since the very beginning, and we're so genuinely proud of what was created in that little pocket of West End.
Running two stores across two states taught us a lot. At the time, expanding somewhere the sun's always shining and riders are out year-round made sense. Over time though, shopping habits have continued to shift towards online, while things have become increasingly tough for small businesses like ours. We've learned a lot about what works for Peak Moto, and right now, that means bringing our physical retail back to Melbourne.
Opening Peak Moto Brisbane was a huge step for our small business, and we'll forever be grateful to everyone in the Brissie community who poured love and good vibes into our shop.
To everyone who helped make the Brisbane shop what it was - our team, our fitout crew, everyone who popped by for a chat, purchased some gear, or took the time to leave us a review - seriously, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
This isn't over yet. Our Melbourne shop will continue as usual, and we'll continue shipping Australia-wide through our online store. We already have an incredible community of riders across Brisbane and Queensland, and we'll still be here to help with fit advice, gear questions and everything else from afar.
We're still striving for that vision: putting female riders first, helping riders find the right fit, and trying to make this community a little bit better than we found it. We loved our time in the Sunshine State, but for now it's time to say goodbye to our West End shop and look toward the horizon again.
