Prior experience with motorcycle gear is not mandatory. We are looking for people who are eager to learn - especially if you are interested in our niche of inclusive-sized women's motorcycle gear.

The part that matters
What it is actually like here
Peak Moto is a small, Australian, fully female-owned and operated business, run by people who ride. The bikes parked out at the shop belong to the team. The gear on the racks was chosen by a team who lives and breathes motorbikes, or have gone looking for it in their own size and could not find it anywhere.
We are here because women riders were an afterthought in this industry for far too long, and someone had to stop waiting for that to change. It's become our mission and culture. It shows up in the way we fit gear, the questions we ask before we sell anything, and the fact that nobody here is expected to talk a rider into something that is wrong for her.

We fit gear, we do not push it
Nobody here works a commission. If the right answer is the cheaper jacket, or no jacket today, that is the answer we give - and riders come back because of it.

Evidence over marketing
We use CE standards and MotoCAP test reports so we can tell a rider what a garment actually does. We can help you understand what they're all about too.

Built for women riders
Inclusive-sized women's gear is the whole reason this shop exists. Getting a fit right for a real body is the most satisfying part of the job, because it welcomes more riders into the community.

A day in the life
On the job at Peak Moto
This is a shop day, start to finish, written by the people who work them.
- Rock up on your motorbike - or the car, on the rainy days.
- There is motorbike parking directly on our very wide footpath right outside the shop, or inside the back of the shop.
- Turn the shop and the neon signs on, then put your favourite music on the sound system.
- Have a quick catchup to start the day, so we are all across the recent orders.
- Go through the lineup of premium motorcycle gear and tidy up the showroom.
- When customers walk in, greet them. They are happy to be there, and we get the most incredible people through the door - usually from the local riding community.
- Enjoy some friendly bike chat while getting customers gear in their size. They are thrilled that we cater for them.
- Once they are ready to check out, bring them to the till and run the point of sale - usually card, occasionally cash. Pack their gear into a nice tote bag and wave them goodbye.
- When times get slow, a quick vacuum and a dust of the mirrors. You would stocktake a few product lines every week to make sure the inventory is correct.
- If you spot some gear you like, try it on. Everyone is encouraged to try on our whole range - why not, you are surrounded by motorcycle gear.
- Take your break whenever you want. We are all adults and we can self-regulate when we want to eat. Heat your food up, or take a walk around the neighbourhood and sample one of the many cafes and restaurants nearby.
- At the end of your shift, reset the shop and make it ready for the next day.
- Gear up, and ride home.

Small business, no politics. If something is not working, you tell us and we fix it.
Brand and product training
Sessions with the brands we stock, plus the safety standards behind them - CE classes, MotoCAP, armour levels.
A say in what we stock
You are on the floor hearing what riders cannot find. That feedback goes straight into our buying.
Rides and events
We hold regular events such as interstate pop ups, an annual garage sale, and bike festivals. We pay for your travel and accoms too.

- Ample motorcycle parking right out the front, plus roller door access if you would rather park your bike indoors on a rainy day.
- Easy to reach from every direction of Melbourne and minutes from the major highways, so the commute is effortless.
- A Coles is a five-minute walk away, and Bay St is full of lunch options.
- We are a few blocks from the beach - perfect for an evening cruise after work.
Honest fit
Who tends to love it here
Prior experience with motorcycle gear is not mandatory. Curiosity is. We would far rather teach someone the product than teach them to care.
You will probably love it if

- You are autonomous - on a quiet Tuesday you find the work rather than wait to be given it.
- You would rather send someone away happy than sell them the wrong jacket.
- You genuinely care about our niche: inclusive-sized women's gear, and getting the fit right for real bodies.
- You enjoy learning the technical side - CE ratings, MotoCAP scores, different fabrics, and gear for each season.
- You want your ideas to actually go somewhere, rather than into a suggestion box.
- You have an undeniable urge to organise things by size and colour, almost to a fault.
- You love a challenge, you live life with intent, and you encourage the people around you to grow too.

- You want a quiet job with headphones in. This one is hands-on, social, and active.
- You are after commission targets and a hard-sell floor - that is the opposite of how we work.
- You like to stay committed to old processes because they're familiar, and don't embrace growth and change.
- You use your motorbike at a bare minimum, if you must, and it doesn't take much space in your life.
The process
How hiring works with us
Small business, short process. You will always hear back from a person.
You apply with an email
A few honest paragraphs introducing yourself - your riding background, and why you'd love to work with us. Remember to include a resume with all relevant work experience too - we're specifically looking for retail and e-commerce experience as a priority.

Every application is read thoroughly by our founder, Amanda. She'll be in touch if we want to move forward.
We have a video chat
An informal chat on Google Meet so we can get to know each other.
A trial shift with the team
If all goes well, we'll invite you to spend time on the floor with us. It is the fairest way for both sides to find out if this works.
Offer and induction
Paperwork, product training and your first roster. Then you'll go through several shifts of training with different team members.

Straight answers
Before you write to us
Do I need retail or motorcycle gear experience?
No. Prior experience with motorcycle gear is not mandatory - we will teach you the product, the fit and the safety standards behind it, and we will give you the time to actually learn it. What we cannot teach is genuine interest in riders and the patience to get a fit right.
Do I have to ride a motorcycle?
We're a motorcycle gear shop, so yes, you absolutely need to ride. We ask that you're off your Learners and have at least a year of riding experience under your belt.
What sort of hours are the roles?
It varies by season, and it does include weekends. Tell us the hours you're after, and we can discuss whether we can match them. We would rather have these conversations upfront than have you juggling a roster that does not work for your life.
What is the team like?
Kind, warm, and friendly humans - and all motorcycle riders. People here talk about bikes on their days off, cover each other without being asked, and are genuinely stoked for each other when we upgrade our bikes and gear. It is not a perfect workplace - no business truly is - but we're always looking to make incremental improvements every day.
Can I do work experience or a placement?
Because we work with safety gear that protects the lives of motorcyclists, we do not offer work experience at Peak Moto. All team members go through a thorough training period, and isn't something we can offer for non-permanent team members.
Will I hear back?
Small business inboxes are imperfect and often very full. If we love what you stand for and what you have to offer, we'll be in touch within 3 days of reading your resume. Unfortunately we aren't able to respond to all candidates.
