Paying with Afterpay · Orders over $500
Yes, we offer Afterpay.
On orders over $500, you can split your purchase into four fortnightly payments. No interest, no fees if you pay on time, and your gear ships as soon as the order is placed - not when it is paid off.
The short answer
Do you offer Afterpay?
Afterpay is available at checkout on any order over $500 AUD, up to $4000. You pay a quarter today and the rest in three fortnightly instalments, and we send your gear out immediately - you are not waiting on the final payment.
It works on everything in the shop, sale items included. The only things it will not cover are orders under $500, which is a threshold we explain honestly further down this page.
One at checkout, then three more, a fortnight apart.
Afterpay charges no interest. Late fees may apply if you miss a payment.
Below this, Afterpay will not appear as an option at checkout.
From checkout to the final instalment, on a standard plan.
Three steps
How paying with Afterpay works
Afterpay handles the payment plan from end to end. We never see or hold your card details, and we are not involved in the instalments themselves.
Choose Afterpay at checkout
Build your order as normal. If it is over $500, Afterpay appears as a payment option on the checkout page.
Approve it with Afterpay
You are redirected to Afterpay's secure portal to complete the purchase. New customers set up an account there; existing ones just log in.
We ship, you pay over six weeks
Your order comes to us as a paid order, so it is picked and dispatched on our normal timeline. You pay the first instalment today and the rest every two weeks.

The real cost
What Afterpay costs you
Nothing, if you pay on time. There is no interest on an Afterpay plan and no fee for using it, and the price you pay is exactly the price on the product page - we do not add a surcharge for choosing Afterpay, on the item, the shipping or anything else. What Afterpay can charge is a late fee if a scheduled payment is missed.
All of the payment terms are managed directly by Afterpay. We do not manage any part of an Afterpay payment plan, we cannot change your payment dates, and we cannot see your account. If something goes wrong with a payment, Afterpay is the one who can fix it - their app and website are the fastest route.
Worth saying plainly
Afterpay is a form of credit. It is a genuinely useful tool for spreading the cost of good protective gear, and it is also a commitment to four payments over six weeks. Only take it on if those payments comfortably fit your budget - missed payments attract late fees from Afterpay, and no jacket is worth that stress. If money is tight this month, talk to us instead: we would rather help you find gear that fits the budget you actually have.
Being straight with you
Why Afterpay starts at $500
Most shops do not explain this, and it causes a lot of confusion at checkout. Here is the honest version.
Afterpay charges the retailer a merchant fee on every order, and it is several times what a normal card transaction costs us. On a large order that is a cost we can absorb without touching the price. On a small one it eats the entire margin, and the only ways out are to raise prices for everybody or to stop offering Afterpay at all. Neither is a good outcome, so we set a minimum instead.
The flip side is a genuine ask, and it is only an ask: if paying by card or cash is just as easy for you, it helps us more than you would think. The difference goes straight back into stock, staff who actually know how to fit gear, and keeping our prices where they are. But if Afterpay is what makes the right gear possible this month, use it with our blessing - that is exactly what it is there for, and you will not be treated any differently for it.
Getting to $500 is easier than it sounds
A jacket, a helmet and a decent pair of gloves clears it comfortably, and kitting out in one go is usually the smarter move anyway - matched gear, one fitting session, one delivery. If you would like a hand putting a full setup together, that is our favourite kind of conversation.
If it does not fit
Returning something you bought with Afterpay
Nothing changes. Paying with Afterpay does not reduce your rights or complicate the process, and it does not put you in a worse position than a customer who paid by card.
Lodge it the normal way
Our standard 30-day exchange and return policy applies in full. Start in the Returns & Exchanges Centre exactly as any other customer would.
We process the return
Once the item is back and inspected, we notify Afterpay. Exchanges carry no fee; a refund to your original payment method carries the usual 5% restocking fee, and store credit carries none.
Afterpay updates your plan
They adjust or cancel the remaining instalments and refund any payments you have already made. That part happens on Afterpay's side, on their timeline.
Read the full policy first
The conditions, the exclusions and the restocking fee are all set out properly on our returns page - including which items can never be returned, such as helmets, consumables and anything marked clearance or final sale.
Straight answers
Afterpay, answered
Anything we have not covered, just ask us - though for account and payment questions, Afterpay themselves will always be faster.
Do you offer Afterpay?
Yes, on orders over $500 AUD. If you are able to pay by credit card or cash it helps us out a lot - the merchant fees on Afterpay are several times higher than a regular card fee and add up quickly for a small business like ours. Either way, we are just grateful you are shopping with us.
How does Afterpay work?
Choose Afterpay at checkout and you will be redirected to their secure portal to complete your purchase. You pay the first instalment today and the rest every two weeks, over six weeks in total.
Is there a fee for using Afterpay?
There are no interest charges and no fees if you pay on time, and we never charge you more for choosing Afterpay - the price is the price. Afterpay may charge late fees if a payment is missed. All payment terms are managed directly by Afterpay; we do not manage any portion of an Afterpay payment.
Can I use Afterpay on sale items or discounted orders?
Absolutely. Afterpay works on all eligible purchases, including sale items, unless otherwise stated. The total value of your order just needs to be at least $500 AUD.
Is there a minimum or maximum spend?
You can use Afterpay on orders between $500 and $4000. Your own limit may be lower or higher depending on your Afterpay account - they set that individually, and it typically grows with a history of on-time payments.
We keep a minimum spend because the merchant surcharge makes it unsustainable to offer Afterpay on orders under $500. There is more on that further up this page.
Can I return items I bought using Afterpay?
Yes - our normal returns policy applies in full, with no difference in your rights or the process. Once we process your return, Afterpay updates your payment plan and refunds any payments you have already made.
Will my order be held until I have paid it off?
No. Afterpay pays us upfront, so your order reaches us as a normal paid order and is dispatched on our usual timeline. You get your gear straight away and pay it off over the following six weeks.
Why do you prefer credit card payments over Afterpay?
Afterpay is a great service and we are genuinely glad to offer it. It just comes with higher fees on our end. Paying by credit card or cash lets us put more back into great products, customer support and keeping our prices fair. Every bit counts - but it is a request, never a condition, and you will never be charged more or treated differently for using Afterpay.
Who can I contact if I have an issue with my Afterpay payment?
For any payment issues, please contact Afterpay directly through their app or website - they hold your account and we cannot see or change it. We are happy to help with anything product or order related.
Do you offer any other payment options?
Yes - all the usual credit and debit cards, plus the standard digital wallets at checkout. If you are buying a full setup and would like to discuss another arrangement, talk to us and we will see what we can do.

Ready when you are
Afterpay sits at checkout on any order from $500 - $4000. If you would like a hand putting a full setup together first, that is what we are here for - and it costs you nothing to ask.
