The Beginning of Peak Moto

Peak Moto founder and Director, Amanda Phoenix, had just moved to Australia as a backpacker in 2015. After totalling her bike in a crash and realising that hard items (eg. phone and keys) shouldn't be carried next to soft organs, she started a small motorcycle bag business called Flying Solo Gear Co in February 2016.

In February 2023, FSGC expanded into its first bricks and mortar store. The space started out as a showroom for the bags, but Amanda had a passion for women's gear due to her own experience of being unable to find gear that fits. She reinvested all revenue from the business into expanding the range and buying more gear until the tiny 29sqm shop was bursting at the seams.

In June 2023, FSGC relocated to a larger space and rebranded the shop as Peak Moto. This new setup allowed FSGC to operate separately while also offering other brands under one roof.

In November 2024, Peak Moto expanded to a new location in Brisbane's West End, where there is a bustling motorcycle culture, great coffee, and the origin of our favourite women's motorcycle group, the East Coast Female Riders.

The name Peak Moto embodies our commitment to reaching new heights, pushing boundaries, and embracing the exhilaration that comes from the world of motorcycles.

Peak Moto is considered both a sister company and distributor of Flying Solo Gear Co, sharing the same values of premium customer service and the love of the ride.

Introducing the Peak Moto Team

MELBOURNE

Kierra (left) moved from Sydney in 2020 and quickly became part of the local riding community. With parents who raced cars in the ’60s and ’70s, she was hooked on motorsport after sitting on a pocketbike at age six. Riding since 2016, she now owns a 2009 Suzuki GSXR 750 and a Honda Grom for stunting. Also a professional photographer, Kierra brings knowledge, patience, and an unbiased approach to all things in life.

-

Dana (middle) moved to Melbourne from the border of NSW and has been around motorbikes her whole life. Both of her parents ride and has instilled a love for classic and Italian bikes since a young age. She has been riding since 2021 and currently owns an old school Suzuki GS500 with streetfighter mods. Dana is a bit of a goofball, loves a laugh, but is also kind and nurturing toward others.

-

Afua (right) is a multi-talented Melbourne girl with a background in acting, dancing, and singing. She has a warm and cheerful nature and is great at putting people at ease. Being a theatre gal, nothing is ever too much - Afua is always willing to give everything a crack and is a reliable member of our team. She rides a Honda CBR250.

MELBOURNE

Amanda (left) wears many hats, as directors do, but specialises in the marketing and discovery aspects so new customers can find Peak Moto in the first place. Amanda values transparency and integrity in everything she does, including how she operates Peak Moto. After getting her license in 2008 and trying several genres of riding, her favourite is multi-day touring - as long as twisties are involved!

-

Steph (right) not only manages the finances for Peak Moto, but is the hyper-analytical, super-spreadsheeting powerhouse of the team. Without her expertise, our backend would look like dropped spaghetti. Having ridden since 2016, she now currently rides a Yamaha MT-09, and loves long distance trips (including a casual 4000km ride from Melbourne to Sunshine Coast and back in 1 week, and a recent 15,000km half-lap around Australia). Steph values fairness and loyalty, and offers an unbiased opinion on how to solve problems that arise.

BRISBANE

Shanti (left) is a lover of all animals with a keen interest in reptiles! She's down to earth and always ready to pitch in a helping hand. Shanti rides a Suzuki GSXR 600 in the streets and also rides a Kawasaki Ninja 400 on the track! She's often seen at bike nights around SEQ and takes her bike wherever she goes - even through hail.

-

Grace (right) has quickly gone from a newbie to the motorcycle to scene to being an integral part of transforming the culture and community of our Brisbane shop. She is friendly, personable, and relatable, ensuring everyone she meets feels at ease. Grace assisted heavily in building our Brisbane shop from the ground up, and brings lots of great energy to the team every day. Grace rides a Yamaha R3 and enjoys hitting the local hills on weekends.

BRISBANE

Jas (left) has a background in videography, and actually met Amanda in a UX (user experience) course before Amanda started Peak Moto! She has a contagious bubbly personality and makes friends wherever she goes. Jas has been riding since 2023 and is currently on a CFMOTO 450 SR.
