It’s a daunting task when trying to improve upon the pinnacle motorcycle jacket of our adventure collection, but we made it happen. The Dominator 3 GTX motorcycle jacket has enhanced ventilation, waterproofing, and refinements to every element of the construction to upgrade performance and comfort for the rider. The fully waterproof motorcycle jacket features the tried and tested 3L GORE-TEX laminate with an updated, clean design. The detachable storm collar - which protects the neck of the rider against the elements - can be stored in the back pocket when not needed.

The stretch cuffs are also detachable and will block cold air trying to flow into the sleeves of the motorcycle jacket. In higher temperatures, airflow to the body is improved by redesigned VCS|Zippers at the upper and lower arms while our patented VCS|Aquadefence panels on the chest cool down the upper body. The 3L GORE-TEX Pro reinforced Armacor fabric is used on the shoulders for extra abrasion resistance and durability. Protection is solidified by our award-winning SEEFLEX CE-level 2 armour at the shoulders and elbows and the SEESOFT CE-level 2 back protector. The motorcycle jacket is prepared for our SEESOFT CE-level 1 divided chest protectors. The detachable kidney belt provides stability and protection to the lower back area.

Flexisnap at collar
The REV’IT! flexisnap makes it possible to adjust the collar circumference easily and personalize its fit to each rider. A jacket is often worn in more then one season, and the flexisnap makes it possible to adjust the collar within seconds. During winter a wider collar circumference accommodates combining the jacket with a balaclava or wind collar, while during summer, a wider circumference lets an all-important cooling wind into the collar.

VCS|Panel with FidLock® magnetic fastener
Removable panels for optimum ventilation. Ventilation is nice on warmer days, but not as desirable in cold weather. The panels can be kept open due to the FidLock magnetic Fastener. The Fidlock® magnetic fastener not only uses the attraction but also the repulsion of magnets. This leads to a robust closure with high locking strength that can still be easily opened with one hand while riding.

The stitching in motorcycle garments contributes greatly to the abrasion resistance of the total gear. This is why REV'IT! uses safety seams on garment areas at increased risk of impact. Safety seams have a visible as well as an invisible seam. This construction keeps the material of the outer shell together, even when the visible seam is thorn.

This PWR|Shell fabric comes in a stretch variant. The 500D indicates the density of the fabric. The higher the number the better the abrasion and tear resistance properties are.

Dominator 3

After extensively using my Held gear and having recently tested it the hard way with an encounter with a kangaroo I began searching for new riding gear.
Wanting to go back to a laminate jacket (Held has drop liners) and having previously owned laminated Rukka gear, I appreciated the weather protection but found it too hot for our riding conditions in the warmer months, which meant carrying an additional summer jacket on longer tours.

The Revit Dominator 3 immediately stood out. With its extensive venting system, it look to offer genuine four-season versatility, addressing the challenges of Australia’s climate ranging from hot summers to cooler alpine conditions and sudden heavy rain. While the jacket comes at a premium price, its design and adaptability should make it a worthwhile investment.

Going for a first ride in it on the weekend, the jacket initially felt stiff, but it is already beginning to break in. Thankfully the ventilation performance is excellent, in 29°C conditions, opening the chest and sleeve vents delivered strong airflow throughout the jacket, and if the Gore-Tex membrane performs as expected, it should also provide outstanding wet-weather protection. I am almost looking forward to a decent wet weather ride just to confirm that my choice was justified.

The build quality is exceptional, adjustability is extensive, the detailing around the removable rain cuffs and collar is impressive, and durability appears promising, likely offering a decade of service with proper care. Overall, the Revit Dominator 3 earns a strong five-star rating from me so far.
Now I need to save for the pants. I wasn't planning on purchasing just yet, but having discovered my current Held ones are not as intact as I thought after “testing them”, I will need to move them up the priority list.

Best jacket I’ve ever owned

I have an older GTX Dominator jacket and the only negatives I have about it are that it is heavy and does not have a warm liner. However, when worn you don’t notice the weight and you make sure you order one a size larger to enable something like a down liner to fit inside. Everything else is top shelf. It looks fantastic, has top grade armour, enough pockets and decent ventilation. The standout features are its 100% waterproofing and crash protection, both of which I have confirmed.

I rode 5 hours in heavy rain and not a single drop came inside, due to the fact that it has a goretex outer shell. Forget about loose liners inside, they allow water to run down the liner and into gloves. As for crash resistance, I came off at approx 45 kph when hit by a kangaroo, took all of the impact on my shoulder and forearm and only sustained a slight fracture to the upper humerus. That is amazing, thanks to the armour. And there was no tearing of the shoulder covering and only a small cut to the forearm material which I easily repaired.

They are designed for slim people and I ordered one size larger due to the lack of a liner and my long arms. They also clean up well.

Manufacturing defects include unravelling stitching, stuck or broken zippers, or premature detaching of parts.

Warranty does not cover discolouration, wear from normal use, normal breakdown of materials, or damaged caused by misuse or a crash.
